If you are deciding to have a sight-seeing around Kuching, You must try Boat or Perahu Tambang! There are three jetties in Kuching Waterfront where the sampans can pick up passenger. You must keep in mind that this Boat not made for foreigner or people on vacation. Therefore, the condition might as well not user friendly since its was made for local daily basis.

This boat only cost you RM0.50 per way to the other side of the river(in 2016 might be RM1.00).
now your are in the other side, what next?
On the other side of the river, you might as well visit Astana.
Moreover, there is also Fort Margherita that well known to local. To be there, u need to walk by foot and don't forget to ask the villager if you cant see any sign.
